We think it’s essential to the identity of the town that we should celebrate our cultural heritage at every opportunity.

With such greats of Welsh folklore as Caradog originating from the area it is unusual that Aberdare does not have any signs indicating the name of the town. We believe that one clear way of expressing a town’s personality is through it’s relationship with visitors.

With such tourist towns as Brecon, Abergavenny and Cardiff within a 25 mile radius, we think it’s time once again for Aberdare to regain it’s standing as one of the most culturally exciting and historically important towns in South Wales.

We are campaigning to have ‘Welcome to Aberdare’ signs installed at the entrances to the town. The signposts will encourage more visitors to the town and will hopefully instill a greater sense of pride in the residents.
